  • Pb charset filename attachment

    Hello everybody, and sorry for my poor English.

    All works fine on my Hyperion installation except the charset of the attachment filename when a new mail is send.
    exemple : when i attach "Modèle courrier.dot" , it send "Mod=C3=A8le_courrier.dot?="
    In the send imap folder it appears like this last.

    All user are configured in french.

    Thanks for your help

    This problem is only with IExplorer, not with firefox...

    Do you have any solution ?

    Thanks

      Hi,

      what charset is the browser using? As far as i know this behavior can be triggered by using ISO charsets but the server and GUI works with UTF-8. Probably IE does use the wrong charset.

      Greetings

        Thanks for your response and your great job on OX.

        This charset problem appear only for mail (only the name of file attachment, not in the body and subject). The infostore doesn't have this problem..
        It seems to be an error in some properties.

        You're the best !

          I have the same thing, but it has the same effect in any browser.

          I'll give you a little example:

          if I send an attachment called ab.exp or a_b.exp then it works.
          if the attachment (the same file) is called a.exp then I get the wrong name after I send the email. This is only through the webmail, of course.

            Thanks for reporting this issue, we did also encounter such glitches and are aware of the problem, a patch for this should be available soon, i assume you're using OX 6.4.2 - this is where we also found some problems with character encodings, also with pretty strange and simple looking filenames - i'll report back!

            Greetings and thanks

            // edit
            just tested it with OX 6.5 Beta and a.exp was correctly transmitted as a E-Mail attachment via OX Webmail on a FF3 on Vista.

              I use the 6.4.2 OX version on ubuntu 7.04.

              Do you have an easy way to update to 6.5 (only in case of no patch avalaible) ?

              The attachment filename appears like:
              filename="Mod=C3=A8le_courrier.dot?=" ie with utf8

              filename="=?UTF-8?Q?Mod=C3=A8le_courrier.dot?=" firefox.

              Thanks Martin, and thanks to all OX community.

                well, it happens also using longer filenames. If you want I can come up with a long example list

                PS. I am using Build: 6.4.2-0

                btw, is there any way of downgrading to 6.4.0 until then? Or any kind of workaround?

                Grüß,
                George

                  Hi George,

                  i recently posted a how-to for migrating from 6.4.2 to 6.5.0 at the "Open-Xchange Hacks" forum. If have some spare time, the problematic filenames would help alot.

                  Greetings
