    Question Open-Xchange like eGroupWare/phpGroupWare?

    Hello there,

I am new to the forums. From looking over the products you are offering they all look like a full fledged local-installation-only solution.

My quick question: Is it also possible to extract the program to a temporary location and install it in a shared hosting environment with non-root access? I would understand if certain special functions would not be available, but I would like more information on this.
I am used to eGroupWare & phpGroupWare which both work perfectly without flaws in shared hosting environments (upload them via FTP, configure via PHP interface).

    Sincerely,
    moontear

    Hi,

Open-Xchange is not based on PHP or any other script language that is executed by a webserver. It's based on Java and requires to run as a service "daemon" at the system. Uploading and configuring it like php based solutions will not be possible.

    Greetings
