  • german "Umlaute" (äöüß) again

    Hello,

    after installing more ox-packages using yast (open-xchange-publish*, open-xchange-subscribe*, open-xchange-template, open-xchange-i18n an the korean-language-packages), suddenly all german “Umlaute” (äöü etc.)where gone resp. transformed to wrong characters (e. g. ü = “ü”. Futhermore the standard-drafts-folder “Entwürfe” wasn’t ins use anymore. Instead of that a new folder “Enwürfe” was created and used.

    In a former threat of this board I saw, that additional language-packeges could cause this problem, so I uninstalled all korean and i18n packages an restarted the services – without success . While the deinstallation of the other abouve mentioned packages brought no improvement, I recovered the again.

    This packages are installed now:

    Hi Rene,

    does this only affect the E-Mail folders? Can you provide a screenshot?

    Thanks!

        Hi,

        okay this one is strange. Those i18n and language packs do not influence the naming of already existing imap folders or contact data. They contain code for error messages and ui translations. Could it be that something more than just those packages have been changed before restarting the OX services? Maybe the system locale or something like that? Please post the output of "locale".

        Greetings

          I didn't register, that something else has been changed between the last restarts.

          Here is the output of "locale":

          Code:
          > locale
          LANG=
          LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
          LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
          LC_TIME="POSIX"
          LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
          LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
          LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
          LC_PAPER="POSIX"
          LC_NAME="POSIX"
          LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
          LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
          LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
          LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
          LC_ALL=
          Viele Grüße

            Well, the Open-Xchange server process uses the systems locale settings for some operations. Please set a UTF-8 locale and try again.

            Greetings

              Hi Martin,

              I tried this out. The output of locale is now "de_DE.UTF-8", but in relation to the unlaute nothing chaned at all.

              Any further suggestions?

                Have you tried to create a new user after setting the new locale and restarting the server? Does it occur then too?

                  Hi Martin,

                  sorry for the delay, but I was on holiday ...

                  Now I set up a new user - and for him everthings works fine

                  So what can I do, to clean up the existing users?

                    Hi, i was on vacation too
                    However - i think you should check the folder names at the database level (oxfoldertree tables). If other data is already stored incorrect it might be converted or something. Duno how much data is affected.
