  • oxtender business mobility install prob

    Hi!
    I have installed the oxtender for business mobility according to the documentation. I tried to access it with a Active Sync Tester

    (https://store.accessmylan.com/main/p...mpaign=astest&
    utm_source=accessmylan.com&utm_medium=ActiveSyncTe ster-1.1.0.0)

    The OX server is responding with http return code 405. On the ajp-Interface I see:

    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
    <html><head>
    <title>405 Method Not Allowed</title>
    </head><body>
    <h1>405 Method Not Allowed</h1>
    <p>[no description available]</p>
    <hr>
    <address>Wed, 07 October 2009 12:50:00 GMT,&nbsp;Open-Xchange v6.12.0-Rev4</address>
    </body></html>

    In apache log it reads:
    xx.xx.xx.xx - - [07/Oct/2009:14:50:00 +0200] "GET /Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync HTTP/1.1" 405 294 "-" "AMLAgent/1.0"

    I switched on EAS logging, but it only says
    2009-10-07 14:35:07.387: EAS Servlet debug logging started

    ox is 6.12 rev04

    Any Idea what goes wrong?
    Thanks!

    What exactly are you trying to achieve with this? Our primary focus is mobile devices, not third party test software.

    Some background: A plain HTTP GET request to the Active Sync path is not a valid request. Devices always use several parameters. It could be that a Microsoft Exchange Server behaves differently which causes the problem with this testing tool. As far as i read the response to a plain GET request is not specified at the ActiveSync specification.

      I tried to verify my installation without ActiveSync-Mobile. So when this is expected behaviour I am fine.

        Such a tool is useful for sure. The HTTP405 is just what you get when browsing to www.ox-server.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. Do you have any other EAS implementation at hand to check what a Exchange Server returns, for example?

          Hallo gaggaman, hallo Herr Braun,

          hatte das gleiche Problem. Der ActiveSync Tester ist leider ungeeignet. Der Hinweis von Herrn Braun auf den nicht definierten GET-Request gab mir den richtigen Weg. Nach einigem Gezerre hat mir einer der hohen Herren endlich seinen PDA geliehen - und siehe da, es ging ganz problemlos...
          Manchmal ist diese Computerei doch etwas schmerzhaft, oder?!

          Wünsche allerseits ein angenehmes Wochenende
          Michael
