Default Open-Xchange launches synchronization based on CalDAV and CardDAV protocols (Beta)

Open-Xchange discontinues OXtender for Mac OS X and launches synchronization based on CalDAV and CardDAV protocols (Beta)

Open-Xchange wants to inform you that development of OXtender for Mac OS X will be discontinued due to the fact that the latest version of Apple OS X “Lion” will no longer support Apple SyncServices, which synchronization with OXtender for Mac OS X was based on. As technical support of OXtender for Mac OS X will be discontinued as well, the software will be no longer available for download at software.open-xchange.com.

To ensure synchronization between Open-Xchange Server and Mac OS X “Lion” applications, Open-Xchange already implemented a synchronization functionality using CalDAV and CardDAV protocols, which is available in “Beta” mode as of today. The CardDAV support synchronizes one address book. Currently the global address book plus the user’s private address book will get merged into one address book on the OS X device.

Both synchronization APIs are available now for Open-Xchange Server Edition and Open-Xchange Hosting Edition. The new CalDAV and CardDAV protocols are available for all customers with a valid Open-Xchange license.

To configure the new synchronization APIs for Mac OS X “Lion”, please visit:
