  • Hardware-Requirements per user?

    Hi,

didnt found this information at the wiki, so i'm asking here: How much are the hardware-requirements per user with hyperion? What hardware are you using for how much people or what would you suggest lets say for 300-500 users in a "normal" office-environment (means they are working with mail, appointments and tasks the whole working-day, no "sparetime-users")?

    regards, Jens

This is difficult to say and depends on a lot of factors: Are all services hosted on one machine (OX Express Edition) or is it a distributed setup (Hosting Edition)?

For up to 200 concurrent users on one machine (OX Express Edition) we recommend 4GB RAM and 2 proper CPUs (Opteron, Xeon, ...). Assuming that your 500 users won't access the server at the same time (concurrently), this should be fine. More RAM is never a bad thing, so is a distributed setup that distinguishes mail services (anti-virus, anti-spam, filtering) from groupware server and database.
