Authentication failed: no response yet :(

i have completed the install of the newest appliance edition and i have a few problems. i cant login to the management console... i get the error Authentication failed: no response yet

i can log in to the directory manager with out a problem? i can receive mail but not send? i get no errors sending. it just goes nowhere. where are the actual logs stored?

please help me out
