    Default OpenExchange 4.1 stops accepting SMTP connection few hours after reboot

    We have an old version of OpenExchange - 4.1

    Today, we received reports that users were unable to send email. The error was:

    Connection TimedOut/Unable to contact SMTP server.

    At that point we rebooted the server. Things worked fine for 2-3 hours and then we heard that the same thing was happening.

    We have had this system for several years and have never seen anything like this.

    Any pointers on where to look to find the problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Looks like something broke the smtp server.
    Check the logs for more details.

    i had once a similar problem... and it was a broken and noneperforming ldap database

    after i used the rebuild script that is available online, it worked again,
