We would like to inform you about significant changes for „Open-Xchange Advanced Server Edition“ (OX ASE) users:
To sum up: Customers and users of OX ASE with a valid maintenance subscription will receive software updates and in case of valid support contract technical support until November 30th, 2013. To ensure long-term support and upgrade capabilities for your email and collaboration software, we recommend migration to OX SE before November 30th, 2013.
To ensure frictionless migration, we recommend you seek support from experienced Open-Xchange partners – although migration will be fairly straightforward as both products, OX ASE and OXSE for UCS, are technically identical.

- After November 30th, 2012 Open-Xchange will stop selling new OX ASE maintenance subscriptions to existing and new customers.
- Instead, Open-Xchange will focus on a superior version of our product “Open-Xchange Server Edition for Univention Corporate Server“ (OXSE for UCS). Open-Xchange will provide upgrade tools for the next generation of Open-Xchange software – which is scheduled for 2013 – only for OXSE for UCS. An upgrade is only possible with a valid maintenance subscription contract.
- OX ASE customers with maintenance subscriptions expiring after November 30th, 2012, should move to the combination of Univention Corporate Server (UCS) and OXSE for UCS. UCS is available through Univention and their partners. This ensures that customers get continuous software maintenance (hot fixes, updates, upgrades) for both products.
- In nearly all scenarios, maintenance subscription for the combination of UCS and OX SE for UCS will be cheaper than maintenance subscriptions for OX ASE.
- Quality of support for OXSE for UCS will improve as Univention will provide support for UCS directly to customers. Open-Xchange will continue to provide technical support for OX SE.
