Open-Xchange releases Public Patch Release 2012-11-27 for OXASE
As already announced, Open-Xchange will discontinue maintenance and support for Open-Xchange Advanced Server Edition (OX ASE) on November 30, 2013. Customers with a valid maintenance subscription will continue to receive software updates and technical support until that date. However we recommend that customers using OX ASE should consider migrating to “Open-Xchange Server Edition for Univention Corporate Server“ (OXSE for UCS) before that date.
The provided update is a prerequisite for the automated migration, because it adds the new „Migration“ option in the license management module.

Complete Release Notes:
The system can be updated as usual for UCS using the univention-updater net command or the UMC module Online Update.

Migration made easy
- Once you have filled in the form at http://knowledgebase.open-xchange.co...on-ase-en.html (which will also be sent automatically to Univention) you will recieve an individual non-binding offer from both Open-Xchange and Univention for the product combination you chose, based on your existing license.
- Install the update for OX ASE provided to you by Open-Xchange after November 27, 2012. This is a prerequisite for the automated migration, because it adds the new „Migration“ option in the license management module.
- When ordering UCS and OXSE for UCS you will get new license keys from Univention and Open-Xchange. Enter the new Open-Xchange license key in the license database http://knowledgebase.open-xchange.co...istration.html. To register the Univention Key open the Univention Management Console, click the Open-Xchange menu item on the menu bar and select "License" from the drop down. The license management module recognizes the new UCS license and then displays the „Migration“ button.
- Automated migration starts immediately after you press the migration button and will take a few minutes. Please do not shut down the system during that process.
