    System load

    Hi,


    Since the update to the newest version 6.14.0 Rev 14 of OXAE I have much more systemload then before (20-30%) - is this a bug or normal behaviour?

    Hi Lukasz,

    since we lack a crystal ball, we need to know what processes are consuming more system resources on your system.

      i will try to get a crystal ball for you....what exactly would you like to know?
      When I watch "top" on my system, i can see that (even with a few users (lets say 5-10) logged in to webmail i can see the the process JAVA triggered by user OPEN-XCHANGE is consuming always more than 50% CPU resources and most time it is above 70%

      all other processes seem to be OK, always around 1-7%

      what do you think?
      what log files or files would you like to see?

        Hi,

        a first step would be just watching the OX log file for anything suspicious like exceptions that are thrown very often, checking the number of open sessions etc.

            Hi,

            those issues are know and not seen as critical, some of them have already been fixed with the latest version. It's very hard to debug this remotely, so if it's a real problem for you, you might contact the support and send some thread dumps etc.

              ok...it is not so bad at the moment - it is just ~20% more serverload than bevore the update - will wait until the next update and then we will see what will be necessary to do

                I had a similar problem allready with update:


                Open-Xchange Public PTF 2009-10-26 for v.6.12

                and it was gone with update:

                Open-Xchange Public PTF 2010-01-20 for v.6.14

                so hopefully it will happen again

                  The last update to the new CLAM-AV Version including also new Python (is that possible) solved the problem again - system load went down!
