We're working on integrate opensuse.org to the AppSuite build process. You may use Debian packages for Ubuntu as well.

just right now searched for app suite on OpenSUSE but no luck.
is there any plans for official support on ubuntu?

Hi Bob,

Ubuntu is supported by some community built packages over at the OpenSUSE buildservice. OX ships packages for RHEL, SLES and Debian.
