That means that guests do not have the "text" capability.
You need to play around with these properties to achieve the expected result.
com.openexchange.share.guestCapabilityMode=inherit
is probably a usable mode.

Sorry for the delay.
I created an OX Text document. This document was shared with a gmail (==external) account, to test if an external user
would be able to edit this document directly.
Backround: Users in our institute looking for a etherpad like tool to work on documents. Often the partners do not have
an account on our side.

So you created an OX Text document or just a simple plaintext file?
Also it depends if the guest has the OX Text feature enabled, because otherwise he can probably only download the file, update and it upload the new version instead of inline editing.

Appsuite + Text +externl user
Hi,
I just tested the following function.
1) Created a text
2) added an external user with the rights to modify the document
3) tried to edit the document using the link. -> does not work. I can see
it correctly, but can not modify the content.
Do I have a wrong understanding of the function, or was it the wrong way to use it?
We are using Appsuite (
Version der Benutzeroberfläche: 7.8.0 Rev28
Server-Version: 7.8.0-Rev35)
