MAL Plugin abstraction Layer

We are interesting to know the capabilities of that plugin, uses in Dovecot / Maildir environments vs IMAP Service server.

Hello,

the mail abstraction layer itself is not a plugin. You can write a MAL plugin yourself. With this method you are more flexible in terms of the mail system used. So e.g. if you are using a home-made mail system which uses other connection methods than IMAP/SMTP this is the way to go to let OX connect to this mail system.

But if only IMAP/SMTP is used the default smtp and imap bundles can be used which are also MAL plugins.
