There is no other API for this unfortunately. You might be able to feed the pictures into the database but I haven't said this in public and it would be on your own risk.

It is some how possieble to add a picture to a user with a comandline tool? For example with the createuser or changeuser command?

We save all our user images in our LDAP-Server. It would be nice if we could add the picture with a sync-script.

The http-api is not suitable, because the script doesn't know the user credentials.
