how can i hide the infobox permanently? i can close the box (being in the bottom left corner) by taking out the checkmark in the context menu (in the top right corner - not very intuitive), but when i log out of ox6 and log back in, the box is there again. is there a secret "permanently" button somewhere or is this a bug?

Hi,
the secret button to turn off this and other UI elements is located at Configuration -> Options -> "Default for Quick settings". The settings at the portal page are meant for temporary removal of those boxes to save space, for example when temporary accessing the UI through a mobile device like a netbook etc.
