Hi folks,

i'm a new user of open xchange. I followed step by step the installation process described here:

Now, before I will begin, here some information about my system:
I'm using a virtual server system, with a debian lenny image:

The root database user don't have a password, like described in the howto.

Step-by-Step Description here:

$ /opt/open-xchange/sbin/initconfigdb --configdb-pass=ahBdKs -a

$ /opt/open-xchange/sbin/oxinstaller --no-license --servername=oxserver --configdb-pass=ahBdKs --master-pass=uKsoW --ajp-bind-port=localhost

$ /etc/init.d/open-xchange-admin start

The error messages tells, that the user "openexchange" cannot connect to the database. Those values are set when calling initconfigdb. If i'm not mistaken, you need to set "ahBdKs" as -p when calling registerdatabase.

Guten Morgen Martin,

jetzt sehe ich das Problem. Du sprichst gar nicht von registerserver, sondern von registerdatabase... Bei registerdatabase müsste man das configdb Passwort eingeben - Dabei habe ich ein eigenes Passwort mit gegeben, da ich davon ausging dass ein weiterer Benutzer angelegt wird.
