iPhone 4 not connecting to active sync

Hello, I am new to this thread and hope I am posting this in the right place. I have 6.2.0 on debian 6, and I am attempting to connect my iPhone 4 running 4.2.8 and looking at the logs on the server I am not even seeing a connection. I have tried connecting to IP direct, as well as assigning a Domain name, I have tried both 3g and wireless only. I'm out of ideas and was wondering if anyone else has seen or has this problem? I tried to connect with an android phone and managed to do it only on wifi...

which way do you try to connect your phone? Web interface, MobileWebApp, ActiveSync...
