authentication with IMAP server

I create in context 2 an user with username XXX.YYY and imaplogin as XXX.YYY@example.com
I cannot log in the Open Xchange server because an authentication error from dovecot server.
I change the IMAP account from XXX.YYY@example.com to XXX.YYY and the dovecot server says Success

dovecot: 2011-07-23 23:10:21 Info: imap-login: Login: user=<XXX.YYY>, method=PLAIN, rip=::ffff:192.168.100.21, lip=::ffff:192.168.100.50, TLS
dovecot: 2011-07-23 23:10:21 Info: IMAP(georges.rassi): Disconnected: Logged out

So it seems that imaplogin field is not used for authentication. what's wrong ?

I continue with the IMAP server saying OK and now OX returns an error:
Erreur : Impossible de trouver l'utilisateur d'identifiant XXX.YYY dans le contexte 1. (USR-0015, -24569094-7)
but my user XXX.YYY is created in context 2 ! Why looking for context 1 ?

Hi,

if you use more than one context, you need to specify the context identifier when logging in. For example "user@2" or "user@loginmapping-of-context-two.com". Also check out the imapauth.properties file.
