Internal server error after an upgrade

Hi, after an upgrade of open-xchange made on 28 october 2011 I cannot login to the web interface.

I see the "Internal server error message" and on the /var/log/open-xchange/open-xchange.log.0 I see these:

The problem occurred after updating from repository "/ OX6/snapshot/DebianSqueeze".

I'm using these repositories instead of the stable version because the stable version does not handle properly the external phone connection via ldap and have some other little bugs resolved by snapshot version.

Hi,

it's possible that these releases are not stable, they are automatically built (that's why we call them snapshot). Please update to the next snapshot version and check if the issue has been resolved in the meantime. Perhaps not all packages got upgraded? Thanks for the hint however.

I know that the snapshot version must be intended for "not use in a production environment" :-)

After an upgrade, 5 minute ago, the error message and the log message on /var/log/open-xchange.log.0 are the same.
'll try again in a couple of days.

I have a questions about best practice when I want upgrade with standard command on my debian (apt-get update, apt-upgrade):
- it's a good idea to stop /etc/init.d/open-xchange-admin and /etc/init.d/open-xchange-groupware before start to an upgrade ?

Hi,

it does not matter wether the services are running during an update. However, you should restart them afterwards to avoid confusion due to configuration changes. Please update using "apt-get dist-upgrade".

You can try the following command:

aptitude clean && aptitude update && aptitude -y upgrade && dpkg --get-selections | grep open-xchange | cut -f 1 | xargs aptitude reinstall && aptitude clean

This ensures that all open-xchange packages will be reinstalled.
