IMAPS and SMTPS

hello,
i have installed open xchange eval (oxinstall-2.4.3.SLES.bin) on sles 9. everything works fine, even the https ssl connection. i'm testing open xchange because our company will quit lotus notes. i have tested open xchange express edition also before and here even imaps and smtps worked, but i think the express edition ist a little bit to small for our company. so my problem is imaps and smtps on open xchange. i don't get it to work. is there a step by step howto for this version ? i'm using:

eval oxinstall-2.4.3.SLES.bin on sles 9
system info on admins page shows following rpms:
open-xchange-0.8.6-5
open-xchange-adminweb-1.3.0-2
open-xchange-daemons-1.3.0-2

Actually, i've a question :

1) I want to use some diff MTA (other than CYRUS-POSFIX already used by OX) to send my e-mails outside my local-domain. Is OX compatible with other MTA's and if yes , can anyone provide me config/procedure to configure OX that way ??
