Import contact failure - no such file

I am trying to import contact to my OX6.6 install. I am getting:

File upload failed. /tmp/.OX/upload_a6e...... ....0014.tmp (No such file or directory) (UPL-0001,-1473496040-3743)

It would seem that I might be missing a permission someplace?

my /tmp directory has the follwoing permissions:
drwxrwxrwt 4 root root 4096 Feb 3 04:02 tmp

What am I missing? Thanks

what permissions does /tmp/.OX have? Does this directory exist?

The .OX directory did not exist, so I made the directory. At least for testing I gave it 777 permissions. Am I to understand that the .OX directory is not made with the import process?

I now have a different error relating to columns. I will work on correcting my csv now.
