Strange Sing on Login Screen (6.14)

    Hello all,

after upgrading to the new version 6.14 I have a strange sign "Â" on my login screen and after logging in in the lower left corner. Any ideas? Thank you.

By the way: the new theme looks quite nice

    Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response. Somm additional information I installed / upgraded on an Ubuntu 9.10 system. There this irritating signs appear. I also upgraded on a Debian Lenny, there everything is okay.

      Kind regards
      Michael

        Hi,

the problem even persists in 6.14 Rev.6. Maybe any news?

        Kind regards

What character encoding does your browser use to display the page? (In Firefox it's under the View menu.)

            Hello,

thank you for your hint. When the strange signs are displayed character set ISO-8559-1 is used. If I switch to UTF-8 everything is okay. How can I force the browser automatically to use the right character set.

            Kind regards
            Michael

Edit -> Preferences -> Fonts & Colors -> Advanced... -> Default Character Encoding
