Open-Xchange releases OX Messenger v1.2.0 for OX App Suite
Open-Xchange is pleased to announce the release of OX Messenger v1.2.0. OX Messenger is a real time text, voice and video communication application that fully integrates into OX App Suite. There is also an option to connect OX Messenger to existing third-party telephony options such as VoIP, PBX, PSTN termination etc.
OX Messenger is based on latest web-standards such as WebRTC, HTML 5 and Websockets. This provides a single responsive user interface that automatically optimizes itself for the users desktop. OX Messenger also works with industry standard protocols such as SSL, XMPP, SIP and RTP to enhance OX App Suite core applications with advanced real-time communication capabilities.
The main focus of this OX Messenger release is improved design and usability for the web front-end including:
- Rejoin an existing group call – for instance if the user missed the call start.
- Guest accounts can now be easily deleted from the Messenger Buddy list.
- Messenger now supports even more fine-grained notification settings, giving improved control over incoming messages and calls.
- Creating a new group conversation does not require a name or description anymore.
