    S/MIME encryption

    Hi,

i have read that s/mime encrytion was beeing planed for any future release. Is there a date or relase-number when this function will be implemented? Or is it already implemented?

    Greetings

    Hi,

the feature is not exactly planned, but we know about this requirement. Implementing it requires a lot of work and "simple" implementations would not be cross-platform. e.g. through browser plugins. The problem is, managing the private key etc.

      Thank you for your answer.
So there will be no solution within the next releases? Where can i vote for this feature? :-)

        Hi,

the next release, 6.18.0, is already done and will be released in a few days. You could contact our sales/service team to vote for this feature and/or open a feature enhancement through bugzilla. Feel free to send patches as well. The thing is, that this feature will consume a lot of time and development so we can't just put it in without major demand since other projects/features will suffer.

        Greetings
