      Greetings
      Oh thank you.
      To sum up the "Versioning and Numbering of Open-Xchange Products", I would say the following:

      There are two different generations of OX Products:
      Hymalia and Hyperion

      Hymalia:
      Open-Xchange 0.8.x -> Community Edition
      CE ist the base for Open-Xchange Server 5
      Technique: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (UserInterface) and PostgreSQL (Database)

      Hyperion:
      Open-Xchange Express, Open-Xchange Hosting Edition and Community Edition (no version number)
      Technique: AJAX (UserInterface) and MySQL (Database)

      Main difference between Hymalia and Hyperion:
      • Different backends and user interface
      • different APIs
      • different code

      However I still do not understand what the OX Hosting Edition is for?

        It's mainly interesting for for hosters and system integrators.

        Best regards,

          Hi,

          some differences at the hosting edition:
          * is able to work in a cluster of n OX application servers
          * is able to manage n contexts where one context can be a domain. This enables a hosting provider to offer a unlimited amount of user environments based on one or more OX servers. usera@contexta lives together with userb@contexta but cannot see anything of usera@contextb even if they're on the same machine/database
          * better monitoring
          * and so on
