  • E-Mail address is not in the List of valid aliases

    Hi all,

after trying to send an email I got the Message "Die angegebene E-Mail-Adresse 'XXX <info@xxx.de>' ist nicht in der Liste der zulässigen Aliase für E-Mail-Adressen enthalten." (for translation, see topic title.

How can I add the Mail address to the list of valid addresses?

BTW: The error message appears since the update to v7.10.6

    Any ideas?

    Viele Grüße
    Rene

Can you provide more information? When you don't know how to add aliases to the list how did you get it into the system to be selectable?

In general you can provision alias addresses via changing the OXUser object (e.g. CLT "changeuser" with parameter -a).

        Hi Wolfgang,

I already used "changeuser" and the "-a" Parameter, so add the mail address mounths ago and all worked fine in the past. The addresses were selectable and I was able to use both sender-addresses. The error occurred after the last update to 7.10.6

After the error appeared I changed the user with the "-a" parameter to first delete the additional alias and the to add it again, but the error was still there.

I cannot reproduce that issue unfortunately. Given a part of the system is aware of the alias and the other seems not I have no good idea right now. Do you have the possibility to contact our support? If not, anything which helps to reproduce it can help so we can open a qualified bugreport about it.

What I found out in the meantime is, that adding an additional alias to a user (regardless who) leads to the same error. It seems, that using additional aliases is disabled generally somewhere.

                May this give a hint?

Now I tried the followings steps:
Installing OX server on a fresh server in a VM with the same accounts and aliases - it worked perfect.
After that I dropped the database and restored the one of the affected system with the result, that the error accours again.

That means to me, that it is not a problem of a setting (e. g. in one of the files in /opt/open-xchange/etc), but an error or mis-setting in the database.

                  Does this help?

What can I do? I have a valid license, but no support.

                    Hello,

I've updated two OX Appsuite servers to 7.10.6 and I can confirm that this problem occurs on both, like @881822

I've now seen a similar bugreport for 7.10.6 with middleware logs included. Hard to tell if it's the same issue but at least there is some chance. We are analyzing this now.

I'm pretty optimistic it's the same issue. In that case I expect a patch coming along with a fix. As we typically provide bi-weekly patches this might be mid of March by default.
